Veterinary Practitioner Registration

Full Registration

Full registration is only required if you have not been registered in NSW before. If you have registered in NSW in the past and want to be put back on the Register, go to the Restoration to Roll section in this site.

The registration fee covers your registration from 1 July to 30 June and is payable each year by 30 April. Applicants who are graduates from the below mentioned Universities are eligible for registration under Section 21 of the Veterinary Practice Act 2003 :

Australia & NZ

  • University of Sydney
  • University of Melbourne
  • University of Queensland
  • Murdoch University (Western Australia)
  • Massey University (New Zealand)

United Kingdom

  • University of Bristol
  • University of Cambridge
  • University of Liverpool
  • Royal Veterinary College (London)
  • University of Edinburgh
  • University of Glasgow

South Africa

  • University of Pretoria (Onderstepoort)

Registration Details

Print all the applicable forms and post in to the Board's Office.

An application for registration in NSW must include the following:

  • certified copy of proof of date of birth
  • certified copy of degree
  • signed photograph
  • letter of professional standing (LOPS) - If you have been practising veterinary science interstate or overseas prior to this application, a letter of professional standing from the registering body in that State or Country is required.

After lodgement your registration application will be put to the next monthly Board Meeting for approval by the Board. Provisional registration can and must be requested if registration is urgent.
