Investigation of rare and re-emerging sheep condition: Cervico-thoracic vertebrae subluxation

DVM4 student, Stacey Russell from Murdoch University, WA, is conducting a short online survey on the awareness of a rare and re-emerging musculoskeletal disorder in sheep in Australia termed cervico-thoracic vertebrae subluxation (CTVS).

The aetiology of CTVS in sheep stills remains unknown and is speculated to be a complex multifactorial condition with scanty reports. In Australia, sporadic cases are re-emerging but at an increasing rate.

This survey will help determine the awareness and possibly areas of distribution. Further description of the problem is provided in the attached survey.

We will appreciate your responses in this short survey that will take (3 -5 minutes).

The human ethics approval number is 2018/114.

A survey for sheep producers and ruminant veterinarians to determine the knowledge and awareness of a rare musculoskeletal (muscle and bone) disorder in sheep is attached below
