We are conducting a research project to find out about veterinarians’ perceptions of the level of importance of professional conduct criteria.
The aim of the study is to gain a current industry perspective of what is important when describing veterinary professional conduct. This will guide educators in curriculum developments that reflect current industry standards in an Australian context.

Epidemiology of Complaints about Veterinary Practitioners 01 September 2022
A PhD scholarship for conducting research into complaints against veterinarians is funded by the Veterinary Practitioners Board and the University of New England (UNE).

The NSW Chief Veterinary Officer, Sarah Britton, hosted a one-hour webinar on foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) for veterinarians on Tuesday August 2, 2022. Topics included:
- an update on national FMD preparedness activities

Day One Competencies Review - Phase 2 Consultation 01 September 2022
The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) began a review of the approved accreditation standards (‘the standards’) for entry-level programs in early 2022. The standards are used to evaluate veterinary education and training programs that lead to general registration as a veterinarian in Australia and New Zealand.
In parallel to that project, a review of AVBC’s Day One Competencies (D1Cs) (previously known as AVBC Attributes of Veterinary Graduates) also commenced.
