We are seeking your organisation’s support to promote applications from prospective candidates, through advertisement in newsletters or via email. We also encourage you to forward this information on to any other colleagues that may be interested. Attached is feature information that can be used for distribution.

We are seeking applications from professionals and consumers with expertise in relevant medical or scientific fields or consumer health issues, to support our functions as a best practice regulator. Committee members contribute significantly towards the TGA’s regulatory functions by providing independent expert advice relating to the regulation of medicines, devices, vaccines and other products and substances, to the following committees:

  • Advisory Committee on Biologicals
  • Advisory Committee on Medicines
  • Advisory Committee on Vaccines
  • Advisory Committee on Complementary Medicines
  • Advisory Committee on Medical Devices
  • Advisory Committee on Chemicals Scheduling
  • Advisory Committee on Medicines Scheduling

Committee members do not have full-time duties - some committees meet bi-monthly, with others meeting up to three times a year.  Members are remunerated in accordance with the principles and rates set by the Remuneration Tribunal (Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Part-time Public Office) Determination.

For anyone interested in applying to be a committee member, please come and hear first-hand from past and current members, who can answer any questions you may have about the experience and expectations of this exciting role.  For more information, and to register for the webinar session, click here.  Please note the webinar will be recorded and published on the TGA website shortly thereafter.
