Update on NSW Pet Registry

Urgent maintenance and upgrading work to the NSW Companion Animals Register (CAR) and NSW Pet Registry (Registry) continues to support the introduction of annual permits for non-desexed cats and dangerous and restricted dogs from 1 July. Both websites remain unavailable to council users.

For vets the Office of Local Government (OLG) has been able to restore access via mobile search function on the Register.

This access will allow Register users to retrieve animal owner information and enable pets to continue to be reunited with their owners while the temporary shutdown remains in place.

How to access the Register mobile site

All users can access the Register mobile site by using the existing Register URL below and their existing username and password:

Due to changes to password security requirements, some users may need to reset their passwords.

The NSW Pet Registry helpline continues to be available at pets@olg.nsw.gov.au and on 1300 134 460.

The NSW Government apologises for the disruption and continues to work as quickly as possible to complete the required upgrades.

The Office of Local Government will continue to keep vets informed of the latest developments.

There should be further updates in the near future
