NSW DPI: Hendra virus variant case confirmed near Newcastle 08 October 2021

A novel variant Hendra virus has been confirmed in a 7-year-old unvaccinated Clydesdale horse from West Wallsend, near Newcastle.


The detection of the virus was confirmed by PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing at NSW Department of Primary Industries’ Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute laboratory on Wednesday, 6 October 2021.
The positive test results were confirmed at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness on Thursday, 7 October 2021.

NSW DPI: COVID-19 Update 07 October 2021

COVID-19 reopening roadmap – updated information for industry and businesses 


On the weekend, the NSW Government confirmed further details on the three-stage roadmap to reopen the state at 70% and 80% vaccinations rates, with the final stage from December 1. 


The 70% roadmap will ease some restrictions for fully vaccinated people currently subject to stay-at-home orders, and from the Monday after NSW hits the 80% double dose target, restrictions will ease even further for those who are fully vaccinated.

NSW DPI: Update COVID-19 14 September 2021


The Queensland Government has announced changes to border restrictions for some NSW border residents


From today, NSW border zone residents who live in a non-restricted LGA can cross the Queensland border for work and volunteering that cannot be performed from home and for other essential purposes. 

 

If you are permitted to cross the border for work or volunteering, you will need to have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine....

NSW Government: Small Business Fees and Charges Rebate 03 September 2021

 

If you are a sole trader, the owner of a small business or a not-for-profit organisation in NSW, you may be eligible for a small business fees and charges rebate of $1,500.

This rebate helps businesses recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and encourages growth by reducing the cost of running a business. Eligible businesses or not-for-profits only need to apply for the rebate once, but can submit multiple claims until the full value of $1,500 is reached.

COVID-19 Travel Restrictions 02 September 2021

 

During this difficult time, you should consider if your worker travel is critical and if it can be delayed.  NSW Police are actively enforcing operation Stay at Home, so you will be required to provide evidence of your residential address and evidence why you are travelling for work. 
 

It will be your responsibility to demonstrate to Authorities why your travel is required and, in some cases, you may be required to travel with a permit.
 

Everyone has a responsibility to minimise all movements as much as possible....
